The winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. From here, the earth begins to make her gradual rotation back into balance. Just as night turns to morning, the seasons shift and change beginning on this annual gloaming.
Traditionally, on this day, 108 sun salutations are performed to recognize the cycle of death and rebirth that is present in days, seasons, and all of life.
